MetaMeta is hiring: Financial Accountant

We serve a broad range of clients, including the Netherlands Government, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, UN organisations and various research funds, including the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
Since early 2024, MetaMeta is part of the GOPA Consulting Group from Germany, which is one of the largest international development organisations in Europe. MetaMeta’s water and land management expertise complements the broad sectoral expertise existing within the wider GOPA Group.

Financial Accountant (32 hours/week – Duty Station Wageningen)
(reporting to our Finance Manager)
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger accounts
- Verify content, pricing and quality of external invoices
- Monitor the Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Reconcile general ledger and subledger accounts
- Support the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements
- Support the preparation of the annual budget
- Conduct the liquidity planning and review
- Prepare and file the quarterly VAT returns
- Advise management where necessary
Job requirements:
We are looking for a curious, enthusiastic and inspired early career professional who:
- Holds a Bachelor degree (HBO) in business economics, finance and accounting, or similar
- Has some relevant work experience in a similar professional environment, preferably within a project-based environment
- Has experience with supporting software (i.e. MS Excel, MS Word)
- Is pro-active, solution-oriented and has a good eye for detail
- Is a good communicator and likes working in a multi-cultural environment
- Works well under pressure, is ‘hands on’
- Has a good command of Dutch and English language, both written and spoken
- Is enthusiastic about working for an organisation with a strong social purpose
- Prepared to spend at least 3 days per week in the MetaMeta office in Wageningen.
