The work we do
Our work centres around a number of themes in water, land and natural resource management, where we believe there are opportunities to do better and create tangible results. Over a number of years we aim to bring the practice in each of these themes to a higher level by implementing projects on the ground, by research and learning and by developing capacity and engaging in policies.
The current themes are:
Water management: There is too little actual water management on the ground, yet we have the opportunities to increase water productivity and address water scarcity.

Landscape rehabilitation: we need transform landscapes and with it the lives of those depending on it, safeguarding soil, retaining water and creating stronger micro-climates

Green roads for water: Roads are everywhere and transforming roads into ‘green roads for water’ ensures more secure connections, as well water security and climate resilience at scale.

Flood based livelihoods: Floods are not just threats, they are also the source of livelihoods for many relatively vulnerable people - they need to be managed as such.

Regenerative agriculture: A more precise and circular agriculture is to be part of future abundance and will create employment and enhance quality of life.

Urban water resilience: With cities and towns growing and expanding, we need to secure their long term water resources and services and avoid they become stressed by floods or droughts.

Groundwater governance: Groundwater is large part of the global fresh water supplies, but as it is largely unmanaged, it is in need for drastically improved governance.

Smart Centers: We believe that there are many dignified job opportunities in water and sanitation, irrigation and regenerative farming. Smart Centers are promoting these.
